British Champions


The club has seen over 300 British Championship titles since its debut race in 1979. By the end of 2020, Mike McInerney had taken a total of 52 British titles and 1 European title, with youngster Arthur Buckler on 36. Mike also won a European Title in the Cadet Boys 3,000mts track race back in 1987. Below is a comprehensive list of our British Champions.

The club were also awarded Community Club of the Year, 2019, by the Living Sports Sport Awards.


Records


Team members have broken British records with Mike McInerney being the current British Record holder for 7 events and Arthur Buckler making his mark in 2017 for the 3,000mts Boys Outdoor race and again in 2018 in the 1,000mts race held in Germany. Eve McInerney has broken five British records for the 3,000mts Junior and Senior Ladies track and road races held in Germany in 2017 as well as the 300 & 500mts road races in the same year. Her and sister Lucy also broke the Senior Ladies Indoor Relay record in 2018. Luke Frary was awarded the 100mts Road race British record for 2018 along with James Eve for the 15kms road race. Luke then smashed his own time in 2019 for the 100mts time trial. Arthur Buckler broke four records in 2018 for the Mini boys 100mts and 3000mts road races and 800mts and 2,000mts track races and in 2019 holds the record for the 500, 1,500, 3,000 and 8,000mts outdoor races. The club also holds the record for the boys outdoor relay for 2019 and the Senior ladies indoor and outdoor relay.
