Mike McInerneyClub Coach

Mike is a fully qualified Level 3 coach for the club. He started skating and competing at a very early age and has achieved much in his long race career. He says his proudest moment was becoming European Junior Boys champion in France in 1987. Other achievements include representing Great Britain in the World Championships in Colorado Springs in the USA and he has won the most medals at a single championship meeting, 7 gold medals in total. He has represented Great Britain several times and most recently finished 6th in the European Masters in 2015.
Mike has broken 7 British records, and was awarded "Most Successful Skater of the Year" in 2014. He has been crowned British Champion over 45 times, and is the Masters Mens Overall British Champion for 2016. He also became Indoor Relay British Champion for 2018 after pairing up with Flynn McGurk and fighting hard for the win throughout the 3,000mts event. He then went on to win the gruelling 10k and 15k races at the Outdoor Championships, lapping the pack in the process each time. Mike finished in overall second place in the Outdoor Championship standings. In 2019 Mike represented Great Britain at the World Roller Games in Barcelona where he finished in 5th place. His best marathon time in 2019 was 1hr 13mins.
If he's not on 8 wheels, he's on two. He is an active member of Wisbech Wheelers and has become the East Anglian Cycling Champion. And, finally, in his spare time he also owns the local speed skating rink, Skaters in Walpole Highway. He took over the rink in 2014 after the previous managers left, and opened it back up to the public on Valentine's day. He recently became the owner of the business and fulfilled a long ambition.

Glen BrownClub Coach

Glen is a fully qualified Level 3 coach for the club. He became Indoor British Champion of 2018 for the 100mts Dobbin Sprint and is silver medallist in the 500mts sprint race of 2018. He took part in the Six hour endurance race at Gravesend in both 2018 & 2019.

Eve McInerneyClub Coach

Eve completed the World Skate International Coaching Level 1 course in 2021 to become the newest coach for Team WISS. Eve has followed in her fathers footsteps in the skating world and brings along with her a wealth of experience and knowledge of the sport. She had her first pair of skates at the tender age of two years old and was competing by the time she turned 5.
Up to the start of 2021 Eve has 19 British titles to her name. She currently holds 9 British records in both Junior and Senior ladies categories for road and track . She has represented Great Britain and has competed abroad in Portugal, Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands. Her victories span from 100mt sprints to 3,000kms road races, to 6 hour endurance races and half marathons.
When she's not skating, she also enjoys cycling.
