About Our Club

WISS started out in 1978 and quickly became a hugely successful local club, with British Champions, GB representatives and British records gained throughout the years. In 2019 we had an 18-strong team aged from 8 to 54 and took part in a total of 14 race events in the UK. Here are our stats for 2019:

    More Team GB News

    The club are happy to announce that two members have been selected for the Team GB Development Squad. Ten year old Arthur Buckler joins team mate Flynn McGurk for the 2020 season. The pair are regularly on the podium at race events, have multiple British titles to their names and have broken records along the way.
    Flynn started his Team GB experience last year by competing at the Flanders Grand Prix and Arthur is multiple overall winner at Zemst in Belgium, Gros Gerau in Germany and the Flanders Grand Prix in Holland.

    Flynn McGurk 13 mile half marathon Youth Boys British Champion
    Lucy McInerney 26 mile full marathon Junior Girls British Champion
    Silver medals went to James Eve, Eve McInerney and Warren Eve. A bronze medal went to Mike McInerney in the Senior Men cateogry.
